About the roleThis position is a key part of our St Vincent’s Lismore – Central Sterile Supply Department (CSSD), reporting directly to the Nurse Unit Manager – Operating Theatre.In this role you will provide high quality sterile instruments to all departments within the hospital. As the CSSD Technician your role will include:Comprehend and maintain all guidelines outlined in AS5369 and demonstrate a working knowledge of this documentEnsure adherence to infection prevention and control (IPC) principlesperform and monitor all environment testingProcess used equipment from Operating Theatre, Wards and DepartmentsClean and dry equipment with attention to manufacturer’s recommendationsProcess all respiratory equipment and return to area of origin Ensure that all instruments tray sheets are checked by another member of staff and tray sheet signedEnsure correct loading of packed equipment onto steriliser trolleysCarry out daily tests in sterilisersRecord contents of loadsUnload, label and store goods correctly after sterilisationSupply Operating Theatres with goods as requested on count form.
